DREAM-DISCOVER-RIDE!
Day 1: From CBTT to Chiang Khong. You will ride along the scenic roads of Chiang Mai province, passing by lush green fields, rolling hills, and charming villages. You will ride on the paved roads of Chiang Rai province, passing by the famous White Temple, optional the Golden Triangle. You will reach Chiang Khong, a small town on the banks of the Mekong River, where you will spend the night and prepare for crossing the border into Laos the next day.
- Day 2: From Chiang Khong to Luang Namtha (Laos) - 197 km mixed. You will cross the border into Laos at the Friendship Bridge, where you will get your visa and insurance. You will then continue your journey on the Laos side of the Mekong River, enjoying the views of the mountains and the river. You will arrive at Luang Namtha, the capital of Luang Namtha province, where you will experience the culture and cuisine of Laos.
- Day 3: From Luang Namtha to Muang Xai (Laos). You will leave Luang Namtha and head to Muang Xai, the capital of Oudomxay province. You will ride on a mix of paved and backroads, passing by rice paddies, bamboo forests, and ethnic minority villages. You will have the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their traditions and lifestyles. You will reach Muang Xai, a busy town with a mix of Lao, Chinese, and Vietnamese influences.
- Day 4: From Muang Xai to Nong Khiaw (Laos). You will depart from Muang Xai and make your way to Nong Khiaw, a picturesque town on the Nam Ou River. You will ride on a mix of paved and backroads, crossing bridges, hills, and valleys. You will see some of the most beautiful landscapes of Laos, with limestone karsts, waterfalls, and caves. You will arrive at Nong Khiaw, where you will relax and enjoy the sunset over the river.
- Day 5: From Nong Khiaw to Luang Prabang (Laos). You will leave Nong Khiaw and head to Luang Prabang, the former royal capital and the cultural heart of Laos. You will ride on a mix of paved and backroads, passing by more stunning scenery and historical sites. You will reach Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will explore the temples, markets, and museums of this charming city.
- Day 6: Rest day in Luang Prabang. You will have a free day to enjoy Luang Prabang at your own pace. You can visit some of the famous attractions, such as the Royal Palace Museum, the Wat Xieng Thong, and the Phousi Hill. You can take a day trip to the Kuang Si Falls, the most popular waterfall in Luang Prabang. You will be amazed by the turquoise-blue pools and the lush forest surrounding the waterfall. You can swim, hike, or visit the bear rescue center in the park ( RECOMMENDED ) .
- Day 7: From Luang Prabang to Pak Beng (Laos). You will depart from Luang Prabang and head to Pak Beng, a small town on the Mekong River. You will ride on a mix of paved and backroads, passing by more ethnic minority villages, plantations, and forests. You will have the chance to see some of the wildlife of Laos, such as elephants, monkeys, and birds. You will arrive at Pak Beng, where you will spend the night and enjoy the local food and drinks.
- Day 8: From Pak Beng to Nan (Thailand). You will leave Pak Beng and head back to Thailand, crossing the border at Huay Khon. You will ride on a mix of paved and backroads, following the Mekong River and enjoying the views of the countryside. You will reach Nan, the capital of Nan province, where you will experience the Thai culture and cuisine.
- Day 9: From Nan to Phayao (Thailand). You will leave Nan and head to Phayao, a small city on the shore of the Phayao Lake. You will ride on the famous paved roads of Nan province, also called riders paradise like the famous road n. 3. You will reach Phayao, where you can relax and enjoy the lake view and the amazing food .
- Day 10: From Phayao to Chiang Mai (Thailand). You will complete your tour by riding back to Chiang Mai from Phayao. You will also stop at the Sankhampeang Hot Springs, where you can soak in the mineral-rich water and enjoy the natural scenery. You will reach Chiang Mai, where you will return your bike and gear to CBTT and say goodbye to your guides and fellow riders.
